Hockey: Black Sticks book semifinal place

New Zealand confirmed a semifinal spot at the Commonwealth Games women's hockey tournament with a 3-0 win over Canada in their third match today.

Goals to Krystal Forgesson in the fourth minute, Kayla Sharland in the 40th and Lizzy Igasan from a penalty stroke one minute from fulltime kept the Black Sticks' unbeaten record intact and ensured they will finish in the top-two of pool B.

New Zealand's next match is against fellow unbeaten team England on Tuesday, with the winners likely to avoid gold medal favourites Australia in the crossover semifinals.
