Scots celebrated with fireworks, fist-pumping and flag-waving after Glasgow was chosen to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games, beating the Nigerian city Abuja in a vote.
Commonwealth Games Federation president Mike Fennell said he wanted Abuja to bid again. Africa is the only region in the Commonwealth not to have hosted the games.
Scotland previously hosted in 1970 and 1986.
