The Government says it's up to athletes whether they go to India for the Commonwealth Games, as the Olympic Committee decides whether to send a team.
One-hundred-and-ninety- four New Zealand competitors are set to partake in the event, due to start on October 5.
Although the New Zealand Olympic Committee says it will be fielding a team, it still wants assurances from Delhi that risks to competitors will be minimised.
As security remains a major concern, a spokesperson for Foriegn Affairs Minister Murray McCully says it is up to individual competitors to decide it they want to attend.
