MELBOURNE - Gordon McCauley helped ease the disappointment of Sarah Ulmer's late defection from the Commonwealth Games women's time trial with a bold bronze in the men's event at St Kilda today.
McCauley took third in the 40km race behind Australia's Nathan O'Neill and Ben Day.
