A disappointed Stuart Farquhar will continue in the javelin despite an underwhelming performance at the Commonwealth Games.
The 32-year-old was unable to replicate his silver medal from Delhi, finishing fifth in the final at Hampden Park this morning after producing only one throw he was happy with.
That was on his first attempt, recording 78.14, before finishing with five no-throws after deliberately stepping out of bounds shortly after the javelin left his hand.
Although upset with his efforts in Glasgow, Farquhar vowed to remain in top-level competition, desiring a more positive way to end his career.
"I'll keep going. I'm not going to stop yet," he said. "We'll see about [the Rio Olympics] - that's quite a few years away.
