New Zealand chef de mission Dave Currie has become resigned to last-minute bungling from organisers.
A "surprised" Currie only found out yesterday - 24 hours before competition begins - about a major technical problem that has the Games organising committee scrambling. The electronic results service at many of the Games venues is not online, meaning results and information cannot be sent to a central hub where it would be accessed by the media and national teams.
Draws for several sports also are not available, leaving officials and journalists in the dark over who is competing or when. Organisers told national delegations it would take two days to repair.
Currie said the latest problem would impact more on journalists than athletes and officials but he was disappointed the flow of information to the public would be compromised. Organisers have also been racing to the official timing equipment installed at Games venues after a security lockdown prevented key technical staff from gaining access.
It meant the timing, results and information systems were unable to be tested until competition eve.
Delhi police have use of wifi at venues because of security concerns.
