Commonwealth Games-bound boxer Shane Cameron tuned up for bigger bouts ahead with a decisive win at the North Island Golden Gloves amateur event in Taupo.
The New Zealand and Oceania heavyweight champion won his division with ease after the referee stopped his fight against Aucklander Sigapoa Asiata.
Cameron, of Feilding, clinically destroyed his opponent, taking time in the first round to measure his punches before stepping up the pace and nailing Asiata with a right hand that sent him to the canvas.
A second eight count was enough for the referee to stop the contest and award the fight to Cameron.
Kahukura Bentson, another New Zealand fighter confirmed to compete at the Games in Manchester in July and August, also finished his work early in the light middleweight division.
Bentson had an eight count on Te Aroha's Cory Muller in the first round and a second count in the next round ended the fight in favour of the reigning national champion.
Muller, who has had just over 20 contests, was game in defeat but no match for a boxer who has been in the ring nearly 100 times.
The super heavyweight clash between Star Tauasi, of Auckland, and Andrew Fepulai, of Central Auckland, was tight throughout, Tauasi winning with a 14-12 computer points margin.
