Heavyweight Shane Cameron let fly at boxing officials after winning a bronze medal.
Cameron lost his semifinal against the impressive Canadian Jason Douglas when the referee stopped the fight 40s into the second round, deciding the Feilding boxer was outclassed.
Cameron had been down 6-16 after the first round and was not going to test the Canadian.
But he said: "I was getting in some good shots as well.
"After the first round I knew I was a few points down, but [Douglas] must have scored on everything, even those low blows.
"It was called off too early. They can't have scored my shots.
"This has happened in other fights and I really feel for those boys, just as I feel for myself now.
"I don't know what was going on there. Boxing is a tough sport. I was shocked when he stopped it, and the Canadian boy was shocked as well."
Welterweight Daniel Codling also ended up with bronze after losing his semifinal to Australian Daniel Geale, who had beaten Codling twice before.
Codling was 9-21 down going into the last round and was picked off by the Australian, finally losing 13-27.
Codling, from Auckland, said Australia had a big advantage in preparation.
The New Zealand boxers had hoped to raise the profile of the sport to try to get it into better shape.
"Everyone gets into boxing when the Games come along, but who supports it the rest of the time?
"We wanted to get youngsters off their play stations and into the gym. We need to lift the profile and bring the young guys through."
