KEY POINTS:
New Zealander Bill Fowlie has been appointed to get the lawn bowls competition operating at a world class level at next year's Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. With the sport being virtually unknown in India, Fowlie's task will be to oversee the building of the facilities and organise the competition from scratch.
With 20 months until the first bowl is delivered, there are still no greens in New Delhi.
Fowlie begins his Games job in early June 2009, with the immediate priority being the establishment of four practice and four competition greens for pre-Games competition.
