New Zealand made a disappointing start to the second day of the Commonwealth Games bowls tournament in New Delhi, with both the women's triple and the men's pair falling to defeats.
The triple of Genevieve Baildon, Dale Lang and skip Karen Coombe went down to Scotland 11-3 and 8-7 in what coach Dave Edwards conceded was a below-par display.
"We didn't play well and there are no excuses," he said.
"It was an ordinary performance, although we did well to hang in."
After two rounds, Coombe and her team-mates have a 1-1 win-loss record, having beaten Botswana last night.
The pair of Richard Collett and Daniel Delaney have opened with two losses after being outplayed by Jersey 8-6 11-7.
Collett and Delaney, who won the Games trial event at the Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex earlier this year, were beaten by Wales last night.
