Badminton: NZ pair into semis

Mixed doubles pair Daniel Shirley and Sara Runesten Petersen became the first New Zealand badminton players to reach the Commonwealth Games semifinals this morning.

The New Zealanders, who won a bronze medal at last year's world championships, beat Canadians Robert Milroy and Tamara Katrina Sun 22-20 21-11 to set up a semifinal this afternoon against Malaysian pair Kien Keat Koo and Pie Tty Wong.
