Shot putter Tom Walsh has rounded off his Commonwealth Games preparation with a fourth placing at a meeting in the Czech Republic today.
Competing at the Grand Prix Usti nad Labem , the Canterbury athlete had a best throw of 20.71m to finish behind home hope Jan Marcel with 20.93m, American Joe Kovacs with 20.89m and Belarusian Pavel Lyzhyn who managed 20.75m.
"Had an alright day," Walsh, ranked No 1 in the Commonwealth wrote on Facebook.
"Just missing it a wee bit but it was an awesome competition. Great crowd. Now back to base in Cardiff to get ready for Commonwealth Games!"
