New Zealand shot put star Valerie Vili will make her debut at the cavernous MCG in three weeks.
Fresh from her record breaking exploits at the national championships, the world championship bronze medal winner has entered the Victorian track and field championships.
Her coach Kirsten Hellier said it will be good for Vili to get her bearings at the MCG, and it will allow her to blow out the cobwebs before heading home to train, then return to Australia for a couple more warm up events in March.
Hellier said there is another big competition for the pair in the lead-up to the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, but she is not at liberty to say what it is yet.
