Craig Barrett and Tony Sargisson have an early start this morning when they head to the Docklands for the 50km road walk.
Barrett finished second behind Australian star Nathan Deakes in Manchester four years ago. Tony Sargisson was fifth in the same race.
In the night session at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Chantal Brunner will contest her fourth Commonwealth Games long jump final.
Most interest at the main stadium, however, will focus on the men's 1500m heats and Nick Willis' bid to mix it with the Kenyans and top Australian hope Craig Mottram, who will look to bounce back from the disappointment of 5000m silver earlier in the week.
