Athletics: Champion hits the deck

Jana Pittman, the 19-year-old Australian 400m hurdles champion, fainted just before being awarded the gold medal.

The reason? Her boyfriend Rohan Robinson suddenly turned up in the athletes' zone when she thought he was at home in Australia.

"She just fainted - she hit the deck," Robinson said. "She thought I was at home watching with her mother on TV."
