KEY POINTS:
St Bedes College, Christchurch, and Wanganui Collegiate School yesterday made the final of the Maadi Cup senior rowing eights with accomplished rows in rough conditions at Lake Karapiro.
St Bedes made it through the first repechage in 6m 5.5s and overcame a late attack by Rotorua Boys' High School. Wanganui booked their place with a 6m 2s row for the 2000m.
In the premier women's event, the Levin Jubilee Cup, Nelson, Baradene College, Kings College, Waikato Diocesan, St Margarets and Sacred Heart Girls College all made it through to tomorrow's semifinal and their last chance to make Saturday's final.
With yesterday reserved primarily for repecharges and including many of the younger and less experienced rowers, there was plenty of incident and action on the water with many of the winning crews being those who made the fewest mistakes.
