St Kentigern dominated Takapuna Grammar to win by 123 runs.
Aditya Edekar (100) and Daniel Young (62) led the way as St Kentigern posted 251.
Takapuna Grammar got off to a good start, the opening pair putting on 35, but consistent wicket-taking pressure from Sandeep Patel (4-36) made the going tough, and they were all out for 128 in the 32nd over.
The Auckland Grammar-King's game had to be abandoned because of rain after Grammar had scored 192. St Kentigern lead Pool A by two points from Rosmini and three from Auckland Grammar.
Rangitoto and Westlake BHS top the Pool B standings with one round to play before the one-day final.
In two catch-up games, Westlake beat Sacred Heart and Rangitoto comfortably accounted for MAGS.
MAGS did get the better of Sacred Heart, chasing down their 164 for the loss of five wickets, largely thanks to a fine 93 not out off 50 balls from Aniket Parikh.
Rangitoto beat Macleans, with Chris Groenink's 5-12 the decisive factor, while Westlake edged Avondale by three wickets.
All First XI matches will be played on Friday because of the Black Caps-Australia Cricket World Cup game at Eden Park on Saturday.
Aquathon
The Avondale senior mixed team of Caitlin Mann and Luke Fielding blitzed the field to take the Auckland schools aquathon title at St Kentigern last week.
Mann, a nationally-ranked swimmer for her age group, did the 750m ocean swim, followed by Fielding (winner of last year's NZ U18 road race and nationally-rated distance runner) in the run. Their time of 33 minutes 42 seconds was nearly 16 minutes clear of second place-getters Pinehurst.
The Year 13 students are now targeting the March 9 Auckland SS triathlon championships.
Central and east Auckland schools were to the fore in the Aquathon.
Howick's Ainsley Thorpe won the senior girls' individual event, and Liam Ward of St Kentigern edged out Leo Roper of Macleans by 31s to win the senior boys' individual race.
Tennis
St Kentigern made a winning return to the senior A1 ranks after withdrawing from last year's competition.
The morning school competition started last Saturday and the senior A1 competition finally got going a week later than planned.
In the girls' section, the two strongest teams won easily. St Kentigern beat St Cuthbert's 9-0 and Westlake Girls' High, bolstered by the return of Rosie Cheng, also won 9-0.
MAGS edged past Diocesan 5-4 in a close encounter with an 8-6 tie break score in the last singles.
In the boys' section, St Kentigern was too strong for a young Auckland Grammar team with no returning players from last year, winning 9-0.
Newly promoted Rosmini had an early taste of senior A1 victory, nosing out MAGS 5-4 with some very close matches. Westlake Boys' High beat Sacred Heart 7-2.
Earlier in the week the zone playoffs for the national championships were held at St Kentigern.
The boys' and girls' teams from St Kentigern and Westlake qualified.
MAGS was the only Auckland team that entered for the national event's mixed competition.
Westlake Boys' premier tennis team member and Year 9 student Chris Zhang has been selected to represent New Zealand at the World Junior Teams and Junior Davis and Fed Cup zone qualifiers.
Softball
St Peter's were crowned Auckland senior softball champions after defeating their old foes MAGS 3-1 in a closely contested final during last week's division one tournament at Rosedale Park.
For St Peter's, Jeron Tan, Nelson Kohlhase and Kalin Felise crossed home plate.
Tan also kept the much fancied MAGS batting side to a few hits with a fine display of pitching.
