The decision over the appeal by St Kentigern College over their demotion to the B grade of the first XV rugby competition in Auckland will be made in the next few days.
St Kent's finished at the bottom of the 1A competition and are due to be relegated, with Macleans College promoted to the prestigious grade for the first time in 25 years.
But college sport chief executive Mike Thompson says any decision is pending.
"St Kentigern lodged an appeal to the Secondary Heads Association. There has been a positive meeting and we'll be seeking clarification before there are anymore proceedings," Thompson said.
It appears that the situation has arisen through St Kentigern being given information during the season about a playoff against the winners of the B grade. This looks to be the point which requires clarification.
Macleans beat Mt Roskill 6-3 in the B grade final to earn promotion to 1A.
