Five of the medal winners - Kate Mitchell and Scott Buswell (Rangitoto), Ryan Sissons (Macleans), Sian Walker (Waikato Diocesan) and Nicole Treweek (Cambridge High) have been named to represent New Zealand at either the world junior under-20 or age-group (18-19 year olds) championships in Canada on Sunday.
Orienteering
Mt Roskill Grammar seventh-former Simon Jager shrugged off jetlag to easily take the senior boys title at the New Zealand championship, three days after a 36-hour journey from Lithuania and the junior world championships.
Jager beat Havelock North's Jack Vincent by 2m 22s. Andrew Peat from Kings was third.
For fellow NZ team member Kate Rea (Chilton St James) the championship outing in Auckland's Woodhill Forest was a disaster.
