A new school has emerged in Auckland rowing. Baradene College, coached by two-time Olympic gold medallist Dudley Storey, dominated from start to finish to take the under-19 girls eight from pre-race favourites Diocesan in the Waitemata Regatta.
There were also victories for Macleans College in the under-17 double, and Sacred Heart dominated the under-17 novice four in testing conditions.
Epsom Girls Grammar signalled their intentions at launching a rowing revival by winning the under-17 eights.
Kings College, with six Auckland reps, became early Head of the Harbour favourites by comfortably winning the under-19 boys' eight.
