In Auckland secondary schools rugby the four semifinal positions have been decided with Auckland Grammar secured top spot after a 36-0 victory over St Pauls.
Auckland Grammar went through the round-robin undefeated and will play at home against Kelston in one semifinal.
The other semifinal will be between De La Salle and Mt Albert.
Both teams finished on 42 points but De La Salle get the home game as they beat Mt Albert 13-12 in round-robin play.
Otahuhu scored a vital 17-15 victory over St Peters to remain in the 1A division, three points ahead of relegation-bound Onehunga who lost to Sacred Heart 31-8.
It looks likely that St Kentigern will gain the promotion spot from 1B as they are undefeated so far this season. They play Papatoetoe in one semifinal with the other semifinal featuring Aorere against Tamaki.
In the North Harbour competition, Westlake Boys beat Rangitoto College 45-0. Birkenhead beat Rosmini College 18-3 while Glenfield lost to Massey High 45-3.
Westlake will host Rosmini College in one semifinal while Massey will host Birkenhead College.
Gymnastics
The Auckland Rhythmic Gymnastic preliminaries for boys and girls was held at the Tri Star Gym in Mt Albert.
Shayna Jack of Westlake Girls won the Club A section, Laura Due of Diocesan won the Club B section and Donna Young of St Cuthberts won the International section.
In tumbling, Hayden Lockwood from Rosehill won the boys' B grade and Ryan Dobson of Massey High, the boys' C section.
Alysa Parker from Macleans College won the girls' Club A section. Stephanie Poplawski of Long Bay won the girls' Club B and girls' Open C sections.
Soccer
The match of the round in the A1 round was an entertaining scoreless draw between Auckland Grammar and Westlake Boys.
The draw gave Mt Albert Grammar the opportunity to stretch their lead to three points at the top of the table with a 7-0 drubbing of Avondale College. In the A2 division, Liston beat the Mt Albert second XI 1-0 to take a four-point lead.
Mt Albert Grammar are six points clear of third-placed St Kentigern College while Onehunga High held on to fourth despite a 1-2 loss at Howick.
Fencing
Michael Hoskins of Avondale College is the North Island boy's foil champ after beating Auckland Grammar's Landon Watt.
In the girls' foil, Cambridge's Helen Mar won the title after beating Diocesan's Sara Oi. In the mixed sabre, Auckland Grammar's Nick Agate beat Jack Herewini of Howick College.
