Christchurch earthquake: Warne signs on for appeal match

Australian great Shane Warne will headline a cast of former cricketers and current sporting identities in a Christchurch earthquake appeal charity cricket match on Sunday March 13.

Warne will line up for the Canterbury Invitational XI led by former Black Caps captain Stephen Fleming against the Martin Crowe's Wellington Legends XI in a Twenty20 match at the Basin Reserve.

"Sport is a common thread that binds New Zealanders together, not least a proud sporting province as Canterbury, and it is hoped that in bringing this game together we can play a small part in rebuilding the lives of the people of Christchurch," Fleming said.
