Unfortunately Gayle failed to deliver with the same success on the field as he was dismissed for a golden duck in Lahore's four run victory.
Gayle was fined $10,000 last month after making inappropriate comments to Channel 10 reporter Mel McLaughlin in a live TV interview.
"I wanted to have an interview with you as well, that's why I'm here," the Jamaican said on national television.
"I get to see your eyes for the first time, it's nice. Hopefully we can win and go for a drink after. Don't blush baby."
McLaughlin was embarrassed by the fallout around the incident, prompting an apology of sorts from Gayle.
"I don't really want to be the subject of such conversations, I like just going about my business and doing my job," McLaughlin said.
"I've always felt in my career I've felt nothing but respect.
"Of course you don't expect to get that answer (from Gayle).
"(It's) a little bit disappointing because it just doesn't happen normally."
Gayle claimed his exchange with McLaughlin was a "joke", said he had no intention of being disrespectful and that "these things happen".
He ended his explanation by storming off from a press conference when told McLaughlin was uncomfortable with what had happened.
"A lot of things have occurred from a simple comment, a joke, a simple joke. It seems it went out of proportion," Gayle said.
He followed that with a cheeky post on Instagram with teammate Dwayne Bravo. "Pockets are empty so (Dwayne's) paying the dinner bill tonight ... let's roll DJ," Gayle wrote in the photo's caption.
The image showed Gayle wearing a T-shirt with a Playboy bunny logo and the word "$EXSELLS" emblazoned across it.
