A New Zealand single malt whisky made in the year the All Blacks won the Rugby World Cup is being released in time for this year's tournament.
The 1987 whisky was made in Dunedin at the former Willowbank Distillery, but when it closed in 2000 some unbottled whisky was left in its barrels and put into storage in Oamaru, the Timaru Herald reported.
Australian businessman Greg Ramsay, who owns a distillery in Tasmania, bought the seven barrels of the 1987 whisky and was now selling them to coincide with this year's tournament.
He said there was enough whisky to fill about 1000 bottles.
