Lisa Carrington and the K2 women's combination of Teneale Hatton and Rachel Dodwell are through to finals at the world canoeing championships in Duisburg, Germany.
The Olympic K1 200m champion Carrington won her K1 500m semifinal in 1min 54.301 to progress into that final, but it looks like she will have her work cut out.
Five other paddlers clocked quicker times out of the four semifinals, the sharpest being Hungarian Danuta Kozak, who won the last semi in 1:52.150.
This is Carrington's first year competing in the 500m discipline, and it has gone remarkably well. She won two of the three World Cup events and is eyeing a tilt at the double for the Rio Olympics in 2016, if all goes well in the intervening period.
Hatton and Dodwell, contesting the 500m double, made their final in the ninth best time, after finishing third in their semifinal in 1:45.829, behind Germans Tina Dietze and Franziska Weber (1:43.013) and Austrians Ana Roxana Lehaci and Victoria Schwarz (1:45.644).
