Ian Ferguson is refusing to rule out an attempt to overthrow the current Canoe Racing New Zealand Board.
Ferguson and fellow Olympic Gold Medalist, Paul MacDonald have been dumped from their coaching roles in the sport.
There are reports the pair, along with former Board member Alan Thompson may try to force a special meeting to have the current Board voted out.
Ferguson says that could happen.
He says they're the backbone of the sport and they're working out what's possibly at the moment.
CRNZ CEO Paula Kearns admits that is a possibility and she's aware it's on the cards.
She says if they have the support of the clubs and the members then that's an avenue for them through the constitution.
Ferguson says his tenure as coach of the team isn't over and he'll fight to continue in his role.
