Carlos Takam will take a weight advantage of three kilos into his IBF heavyweight world title eliminator against New Zealander Joseph Parker tomorrow night.
Takam weighed in at 109.4kg at the Vodafone Events Centre today, the fight venue in Manukau. Parker recorded 106.4kg.
The 35-year-old Takam revealed a powerful and trim figure, with Parker also looking relatively lean once he took off his Mohammad Ali T-shirt and "Toa Samoa" singlet. The 24-year-old weighed in at about 108kg for his last fight in Apia, Samoa, in January.
He put the weight loss down to his 12-week training camp in Las Vegas.
"It's an excellent weight," trainer Kevin Barry said. "You can tell by the condition that's he's in that he's trained phenomenally well. This is the best Joseph Parker I've seen in three years."
