Spy: The Bachelor signs on for Fight for Life

The handsome Art Green proved a knockout with the ladies on The Bachelor NZ. And now the tanned and toned Adonis is on a mission to flex his muscles and deliver a knockout blow in the boxing ring - he has signed on to take part in this year's Fight for Life.

Over the past six months, the 27-year-old has found love with Matilda Rice on the reality TV show, twice strutted his stuff on the modelling catwalk - including at New Zealand Fashion Week - and helped grow his paleo business.

He has agreed to take on a sporting great in the December 5 charity fight night at Hamilton's Claudelands Arena.

"This shows Art is willing to put himself out there. It takes courage to get in the ring and shows he is not just a pretty face," David Higgins, director of fight night organiser Duco Events, told Spy.

"Art has a background of never getting in the ring - he is an actor, he is 'The Bachelor'."
Green's opponent will be named next week and Higgins said the chiselled hunk is in for the fight of his life.

"People will be shocked at his opponent," he said.

"Art will be facing a tough, young career professional athlete in his prime, with a lot of mongrel. That takes guts [from Art].

"Some participants want to pick and choose who their opponent is before they get in the ring. Not Art. He's taking on the guy we put in front of him."

Higgins believed Green's participation would broaden Fight for Life's appeal to a female audience. Time will tell if a gaggle of Bachelorettes will also be front row at the bout.
