Queensland rugby league legend Gorden Tallis has turned down a $50,000 offer from Duco to step into the boxing ring and fight David Klemmer.
Tallis was approached by the New Zealand events company to fight the NSW State of Origin forward this week but said he had previously turned down $200,000 to get in the ring, and would need a better offer.
Tallis criticised Klemmer after the Canterbury youngster seemed to have a running battle with most of the Maroons' pack in the second Origin clash at the MCG.
Tallis has said he would have punched Klemmer in the face if the Canterbury forward showed him the same level of disrespect he showed to Queensland stars Cameron Smith and Corey Parker in Origin II in Melbourne last week.
New Zealand-based Duco Events was prepared to pay Tallis to punch Klemmer in Hamilton on December 5 in their annual Fight for Life charity boxing show, which has previously featured league stars including Blues captain Paul Gallen, Sam Thaiday and Willie Mason.
