NSW rugby league captain Paul Gallen kept alive his plan to fight dual international Sonny Bill Williams with a fourth-round stoppage of modestly performed Herman Ene-Purcell in Toowoomba on Friday night.
Gallen earned $50,000 by bombarding the Samoan-born Queenslander for the second time.
In 2014 Gallen climbed from the deck to win his professional debut against Ene-Purcell by second-round stoppage at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney.
With the win at the Rumours club last night, the 103kg Cronulla strongman is now unbeaten in five pro fights (3 KO wins).
Ene-Purcell, who was 109.5kg, falls to 7-5 (4 KOs).
Sonny Bill Williams is unbeaten in seven fights but has fought a much tougher level of opposition than Gallen.
