Boxing: Tyson Fury shows off astonishing body transformation

Tyson Fury looks to be back to his optimum fighting weight again as he showed off his new physique ahead of his ring return at the Manchester Arena on June 9.

Fury has shed surplus poundage since announcing his intentions to step back into the ring back in November and showed off his transformation on Wednesday.

The self-styled Gypsy King tensed and posed for a snap in just his pants after a sparring session in the gym before posting it on his Instagram account.

Fury, who had ballooned in weight after a two-and-a-half year hiatus, looks a shadow of the man who posed for that topless photo with former world champion Ricky Hatton last year.

He has not been in the ring since dethroning Wladimir Klitschko back in November 2015 amid self-confessed problems with drugs and depression but is reported to be healthy in body and mind and will make his return next month against an unnamed opponent on the undercard of Terry Flanagan's world title fight with Maurice Hooker.

Fury's new promoter Frank Warren, who he has signed a lucrative multi-fight deal with, is set to announce the first opponent of his second coming soon.

It is expected to be someone of modest ability as Fury looks to get rid of any ring rust that has gathered over the two-and-a-half years of inactivity.

The 29-year-old Manchester giant has more than prepared for whoever will be put in front of him and seems to be in peak condition after months of hard training.

He recently said next month's fight will launch a bum-a-month campaign invoking the legacy of legendary heavyweight Joe Louis as he eyes a blockbuster clash with rival Anthony Joshua in the near future.

Joshua is currently in talks with Deontay Wilder in a fight that would determine the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis with his promoter Eddie Hearn revealing there is a 70 per cent chance of it happening.

Fury has insisted he would beat both of them but may have to cross paths with Tony Bellew first should Hearn opt to take the Bomber down that route for his next fight after he demolished David Haye inside five rounds last Saturday.

The Evertonian, who has previously exchanged verbals with Fury, named him as a possible opponent after winning the rematch with Haye and said 'I know I can beat him.'

The former heavyweight world champion agreed to take that fight and responded by promising Bellew a job cleaning his shoes after knocking him out in the first round.
