South Auckland heavyweight David Tua's comeback is set to continue with a fight against American journeyman Monte Barrett in Brazil in June.
With details of the fight still to be confirmed, Tua's promoter Cedric Kushner announced the date and venue last night.
Tua, who will take to the ring on June 26 in Sao Paulo, said it was "fantastic to have something to plan towards".
"I think it's a fantastic opportunity for me to be exposed to the world internationally, so a fantastic way to get back into fighting again."
Barrett was yet to be confirmed as the opponent and there was no mention of an alternative if negotiations fell through.
The announcement was made on Maori Television, which has a deal to host two more fights in a three-fight contract with Tua.
He won a unanimous points' decision over Friday Ahunanya in Auckland last month in the first of his contracted fights.
He launched his latest comeback by making short work of fellow Kiwi Shane Cameron with a second-round knockout in October.
Barrett, 38, has an ordinary record. His 34 wins include 20 knockouts, but of greater note, he's had nine defeats, five of which finished with him on his back.
He has challenged for the WBA title and fought six current or former heavyweight champions, including David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko.
"He's served his apprenticeship, he's fought at the highest level," Kushner said. "He's a solid fighter and a good test for David Tua."
