Sonny Bill Williams would have spent more time Googling his opponent than he spent throwing punches at him.
The rugby and league star knocked out beer-gutted fellow-Kiwi Ryan "Hulk" Hogan in the first round of their bout last night.
Fighting on the undercard to Anthony Mundine's fight against Argentine Carlos Aden Jerez in Brisbane, Williams needed only two minutes 30 seconds of the opening round to floor Hogan, who crumpled to the canvas after a right hook.
Williams, who will return to rugby union for leading province Canterbury in the national championships on July 30, hardly broke a sweat.
It was a classic mismatch and the first round TKO came as no surprise.
Williams said after the fight he would have preferred a more brutal encounter, and he was disappointed the grossly overweight Hogan was able to land a couple of blows.
"He moved around a bit and would have liked it to be a bit more toe-to-toe," Williams said.
"He got me with a couple of shots which was disappointing."
Williams said he would return to New Zealand at the weekend, and would now concentrate on his rugby career and earning an All Black rugby jersey.
The bout was the second pro fight for Williams, and the first for Hogan, who also lost his only amateur fight.
Hogan weighed in on Tuesday at 135kg to Williams' 108kg.
Williams' previous fight was last year against Aucklander Gary "The Baboon" Gurr, another inexperienced boxer. It was scheduled to last four rounds, but was stopped after two.
Hogan, a 23-year-old Auckland storeman who played American football for the New Zealand under-19 team, was pessimistic about his chances before the bout, but said, "Anything can happen in boxing".
