Tawera Nikau is not letting the loss of his leg stop him from stepping into the boxing ring at next month's charity Fight for Life.
The former Kiwi rugby league player, who lost his right leg in a motorbike accident last year, will fight his old team-mate Tea Ropati to raise money for the Meningitis Trust.
"I'm giving Tea a sporting chance," said Nikau.
Event organiser Dean Lonergan, also a former Kiwi, and former All Black Mark Cooksley will be among the other pairs to meet in the ring at the North Shore Events Centre on July 29. Fight for Life will be broadcast live on TV3.
