New Zealand junior middleweight Daniel Codling took his professional boxing record to 2-0 with a unanimous points decision against Jose Medina at Aladdin Casino in Las Vegas today.
Both fighters went into the ring unbeaten in their first fights.
Medina was a very awkward opponent, throwing wide punches from many angles.
After a close first round, Manchester Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Codling began to totally dominate scoring with the straighter punches.
Codling floored Medina with a right hand at the end of round three, but the bell saved him from being finished off.
Codling landed many telling blows in the fourth round, but could not find his timing to land a punch to finish the fight.
