Former world featherweight boxing champion "Prince" Naseem Hamed has been stripped of the MBE bestowed on him in 1998.
The London Gazette, the official newspaper of the crown, said the Queen ordered it to be annulled after he was jailed for driving offences.
Hamed was released early last September after serving 16 weeks of a 15-month sentence for dangerous driving and seriously injuring a motorist when he crashed his McLaren-Mercedes supercar at around 145km/h head-on into another car in England's Peak District.
The other driver, Anthony Burgin, suffered fractures to every major bone in his body and still suffers pain.
