SYDNEY - The world title bout and rematch between super middleweight boxers and Australian rivals Anthony Mundine and Sam Soliman has been locked in for March 7 next year.
A press conference for the fight, which has been dubbed 'The Man, The King - The Fight for the Crown' will take place at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Wednesday.
The Sydney venue is also down to host the fight, however late this afternoon Soliman's manager Stuart Duncan was still trying to get the fight for Melbourne.
Mundine and Soliman will fight for the vacant WBA super middleweight title.
The two men first fought in September 2001, when Mundine won a contentious split points decision.
The title fell vacant after previous holder Mikkel Kessler, who beat Mundine last year, was elevated to the status of Super champion, after recently winning the WBC title.
Sydneysider Mundine, 31, boasts a professional record of 27 wins (21 KOs) and three losses.
Melbournian Soliman, 33, has won 21 out of 22 fights since his loss to Mundine to bring his record to 33 victories (13 KOs) and eight losses.
