KEY POINTS:
David Tua may have to turn down his highest profile fight since his return to the ring in 2005.
The New Zealand heavyweight's management does not want the boxer to wait until mid-May for a fight with former American WBO champion Lamont Brewster.
This follows an offer by pay TV network HBO after Tua's win over Robert Hawkins in New York at the weekend.
Promoter Cedric Kushner said the biggest problem contractually is Tua would not be able to have a warm up fight before the proposed date of May 19 because there is a contractual restriction of not fighting for six weeks prior.
A high profile fight at the moment is not as beneficial as staying in the public eye and recording confidence-boosting wins, he said.
Kushner said Tua is just getting back into the groove of fighting regularly and another three months off would be counterproductive.
