Waikato rugby prop Loni Uhila could get a chance to avenge his controversial loss to Dave "Brown Butterbean" Letele.
Uhila, who went by the ring-name "Tongan Bear" at the Fight for Life bout at Hamilton's Claudelands Arena on Saturday, lost a split decision over four rounds to Letele, a clash many who were present believed he had won.
Judge Carrick Belton awarded the fight 39-38 to Letele and judge Ian Scott awarded it 37-39 to Uhila. However, judge Yan Allport gave every round to Letele when scoring it 40-36.
Letele, who is undefeated, appeared resigned to losing the fight following the final bell. He was even uncharacteristically lost for words in an interview afterwards, saying of his opponent: "He hits really hard, that's all I want to say."
A Duco spokesman today said a re-match was likely. The company's facebook page is full of negative comments about the decision.
