Shane Cameron may look for one home defence of his New Zealand heavyweight boxing title next March before aiming for a regional title to put him on the road up the rankings.
Cameron was far too fit and skilful for Shane Wijohn at Auckland's Sky City casino on Saturday, finishing him in the fourth round to take his pro record since November 2002 to 10-0 and in the process securing the NZ Professional Boxing Association belt that had not been contested since Toakipa Tasefa last defended it in February 2001.
Cameron had a big cut opened in his forehead after a head clash but came back to quickly make the scheduled 12-round bout a no-contest.
Wijohn, who has focused on kick-boxing, could not take advantage of his height, weight and reach edge.
Best fight of the night was Aussie Bob Mirovic's late KO of Hiriwa Te Rangi.
