Meehan, who won the inaugural Super 8 heavyweight crown in June, has a 41-5 career record and has fought around the world.
Cameron's manager, Ken Reinsfield, was adamant Cameron had the skill and mental toughness to topple Meehan.

New Zealand's top-ranked fighter, David Aloua, will also will defend his WBA Pan African and WBO Asia Pacific cruiserweight crowns against Aussie world No 14, Daniel Baff in the co-main event.
The Super 8 competitors are expected to be announced this week.
Meanwhile, Israel Adesanya won last night's King in the Ring cruiserweight kickboxing tournament in Auckland.
Adesanya, who will make a return to the Glory promotion later this year, beat Jamie Eades in the final to claim the crown.
