A hot bath helped Shane Cameron shed 1.7kg and come in under the agreed weight of 89kg for tonight's IBO cruiserweight world title fight against Danny Green in Melbourne.
Cameron was forced to undertake a second weigh-in at 8pm last night (NZT) to meet the 'Dannyweight' limit of 89kg imposed by the Green camp - the cruiserweight limit is 90.7kg - tipping the scales at 88.5kg.
He sat in a hot bath one hour prior to the second weigh-in, losing 1.7kg. The delay meant Cameron missed a few hours' eating time but he's still expected to be closer to 93kg by the time he enters the ring tonight.
Cameron insisted dropping below the regular cruiserweight limit of 90.7 hadn't done any harm.
"It feels good. I am ready for this fight. I'm definitely going to win. If I land a good one on Danny it is going to be a long night for him.
