New Zealand cruiserweight boxing champion Mohamed Azzaoui heads to London on Sunday to prepare for a fight in the biggest boxing event ever to be staged in Russia.
Algerian-born Azzaoui, who now lives in Kaikohe, is matched on the undercard of the Evander Holyfield v Sultan Ibragimov WBO world title fight to be held at Knodynka Ice Palace in Moscow on October 13.
Azzaoui, who has had 19 fights for 17 wins and two draws, will defend his IBF Pan Pacific title in a twelve rounder against Henry Saenz of Nicaragua.
He has been sparring heavyweight contender Shane Cameron and heads to London to finish his preparation by sparring Britain's No 1 contender David Haye.
Haye is scheduled to meet Jean Marc Mormeck in Paris for a WBC/WBA unification bout on November 10th.
Maori Television have secured the rights to the live broadcast from the Moscow card, which will air October 14th (NZ time)
