The man at the centre of the bowls controversy dominating sports chat over recent weeks says it is time to stop the secrecy and put all the facts and information into the public domain.
Gary Lawson's team is now aware of what punishment New Zealand bowls is after, but he cannot understand why he is not allowed to talk about it.
"The public should actually see what they've come up with, so that we can get it out of the way and get it talked about. Because I just think that there's too much secrecy the whole way through, as far as Bowls New Zealand go. And I just think the players have had enough and we just want to get it sorted out."
Lawson says he was not surprised when he was told the extent of the punishment Bowls New Zealand is proposing. His team now have a week to respond.
With the bowls controversy surrounding the four set to drag on well into next month, there is fresh concern about the perceived independence of the panel appointed by Bowls New Zealand, to decide the team's punishment. One member of the panel is married to a board member of New Zealand Bowls.
