Bowls: Scot takes world title

Scotland's Neil Speirs won the men's world bowls title, beating Safauan Said of Malaysia in the final at Warilla, south of Sydney.

New Zealander Robert Jacobs finished sixth, after being beaten by Said in the quarter-finals.

In the women's final, Shirley Choy of Canada beat England's Doreen Hankin. New Zealander Paula Meredith finished eighth.
