Bowls New Zealand is aware it will have an uphill battle receiving more funding from Sport and Recreation New Zealand after a poor showing at the Commonwealth Games.
The sport got just under $750,000 from Sparc for 2009-10. Additionally, the high performance department got $350,000 of contestable funding based on a plan they would win three medals in Delhi.
However, only a solitary silver was won, with Val Smith placing second in the women's singles
National team manager Lyn Johnston told National Radio admitted it would be harder to get funding in the future.
"We are up front. We say our results aren't good enough."
The Games are classed as the sport's pinnacle event this year.
