New Zealand players made mixed starts to the World Cup and Junior World Cup bowls events in Hong Kong yesterday.
Terry Johnson, of Manawatu, recorded two wins from his opening matches at the open event, while Nelson's Ali Forsyth won his opening match in the under-25 competition.
The New Zealand women, Lisa Dickson and Genevieve Baildon, both lost their opening matches.
