Shannon McIlroy has won bronze at the World Bowls Championships in Adelaide today.
Nelson 25-year-old McIlroy won New Zealand's fourth medal of the championships after losing 21-19 to Australian Leif Selby.
He picked up three shots to narrow the gap to 20-19 but Selby secured the vital shot for victory, and a berth in the final against Canada's Ryan Bester.
New Zealand's women's world singles champion Val Smith is going for gold against Australia's Karen Murphy in her final this afternoon.
