KEY POINTS:
Gary Lawson has been recalled to the New Zealand team for an international bowls series against Ireland.
The experienced international last played for his country a year ago when he skipped the triple at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
Confirming Lawson's inclusion for the tests against Ireland, on March 29-31 in Christchurch, national coach Dave Edwards said the long-time Canterbury representative was a potential addition to the training squad preparing for the world championships in Christchurch in January.
The withdrawal of Dwayne Cameron for personal reasons has left a gap in the side. The men's squad for the championships has six players - Shannon McIlroy, Ali Forsyth, Doug Wilson, Richard Girvan, Andrew Todd and Sean O'Neill.
