The defending champions followed a 19-19 draw against New South Wales pair Steve Glasson and Adam Jeffery with a surprise 22-24 loss to Queenslanders Jeff Twist and Peter Leon to end section play.
Russell Meyer and Paul Girdler will contest the play-off for third and fourth today.
The women's combination of Marlene Castle and Sharon Sims finished fourth in their section while Val Smith and Jo Edwards were fifth in their section.
